Leadership Team

Servant leaders living into missional rhythms

GRASSROOTS Church has a polycentric, multifaceted leadership team that operates as a Pneumacracy (Pneuma = Greek for “Spirit,” cracy = rule). Within GRASSROOTS, we recognize that the Holy Spirit rules and reigns among us as a sign of the already/not yet kingdom. As God lovingly shapes and reshapes GRASSROOTS Church, the Spirit is inspiring, forming, and motivating people to provide leadership for the GRASSROOTS family. This includes Servant Overseers, Church Servants (Deacons), Gift Ministries (Equippers), Gospel Community Servants, and others. Polycentric leadership models the interrelation of the Trinity, where there is an interdependent, communal, relational, participatory, self-surrendering and self-giving approach to leadership through which we, together, surrender ourselves in humility to the rule and reign of Jesus and one another.

Ryan and Hillary Yoder

Ryan and Hillary Yoder

Church Servants, Gospel Community Servants

Hillary grew up on the West Coast in California, Ryan in the Plains of Kansas. They moved to Colorado around the same time and lived in neighborhoods close in proximity. In 2009, their paths finally crossed at the Broadmoor around Christmas time. They fell in love and were married in 2011, and the rest is history. They have a cute and spunky little girl whom they love dearly. Through painful childhoods and broken teenage years, God has made, and is making, amazing and beautifully restored things from their brokenness. Ryan and Hillary are passionate about building up the church to maturity and seeing those who have strayed come back into relationship with God through Christ while being restored within His church. GRASSROOTS has been a wonderful and redemptive part of their lives since 2014. They deeply appreciate GRASSROOTS’ family feel and how they’re continually challenged to grow in their faith, service, and missional living.

They appreciate the fact that GRASSROOTS seeks to live in close, interconnected relationship with one another, always seeking to build each other up and point each other to Jesus. Ryan and Ana Lisa are passionate about music, teaching, music, electrical engineering, music, cooking, people, and seeing people changed by the forgiveness and redemption that Jesus offers.

Paul and Kendra Gagich

Paul and Kendra grew up in Wyoming and were high school sweet hearts and have been married for 22 years. They moved to Colorado Springs in January of 1997 and this has been home since. Paul was in the Air Force for 4 years which is what brought them to the Springs area. Paul currently is a medical device sales rep for a company called Synthes where he helps to put people back together with plates and screws when they break something. Kendra is a stay at home mom for their beautiful and energetic 3.5 year old daughter Addison whom they adopted back in 2013 (a true answer to prayer). Prior to this she was in the dental field for over 20 years as an assistant. They really enjoy spending time with family and friends and when time allows they like to fly fish, go rafting, rock climbing, snowboarding and getting up into the mountains!! Paul and Kendra love gRc and it has been their family away from family since 2009 when gRc was first planted and when they were saved. They enjoy the intimate family feel that gRc has and how it has radically changed the way they think and feel about the church in general. It has been a redemptive part of their lives, which has caused and challenged them to live more missionally minded and has also spurred the desire to go deeper in relationship with Christ and others.

Shane and Leah Tuttle

Shane and Leah Tuttle

Gospel Community Servants

Shane and Leah Tuttle have been a part of GRASSROOTS Church for 3 years. Shane had attended GRASSROOTS a few times, years ago, but did not return because the church at that time was centered and focused on the Downtown area, and Shane did not live in this area at the time. Fast-forward about 6 years when Shane and Leah got married and were looking for a church close to their home and a church family to really get connected with, Shane remembered GRC, looked them up online to see where they were meeting and decided to visit one Sunday. They were genuinely loved and cared for by the people of GRC, loved the truth filled teaching and decided to make GRC their home church. Shane and Leah have known each other for 13 years, and have been married for almost 5 years. They have two beautiful children, 4 year old Amelia and 1 year old William. Shane is a native of Colorado Springs. Leah was born and raised in Maryland, and then moved to Colorado Springs with her family in 2005. Leah got a job at a local Chick-Fil-A when she first moved here and that is when and where she met Shane. Shane has been a believer for 14 years and Leah has been a believer for 12 years. During their free time, Shane and Leah enjoy motorcycle riding, going to the shooting range, and spending time with their family and friends and dog, Tootsie.
