Trinity and Sanctification

Acts 26:17-18; Rom. 6:22-23; 1 Cor. 1:2; 1 Cor. 6:11

This is a song that I wrote and recorded in response to the wholly transformative work the Trinity has been doing in me and those I’ve walked through life with these many years. In particular, you will hear the themes Paul wrestled with in Romans 6-8. It’s entitled “Save Me Lord.”

Save Me Lord
Verse 1
Immersed in our Savior’s death and
United in His resurrection
So shall we continue sinning?
We count ourselves dead to sin but
Alive to Christ in our defection
Then why does sin keep on winning?

Pre-Chorus
And so we offer up our lives as instruments
Of righteousness to God leading to holiness

Chorus
Save me Lord, yes, save me Lord
From this body of sin
We’re crucified with Christ
We’re now enslaved to Him
Rescue me, o Lord, rescue me
From this battle within
As heirs we suffer that
We may be glorified with Him

Verse 2
We died to the law through Christ that
We’d be united with the resurrected
So why do we keep on sinning?
Serving in the renewal of the Spirit
Completely emancipated
Then why does sin keep on winning?

Pre-Chorus
I do not understand why I do what I despise
Who will salvage my frail body from demise

Chorus
Save me Lord, yes, save me Lord
From this body of sin
We’re crucified with Christ
We’re now enslaved to Him
Rescue me, o Lord, rescue me
From this battle within
As heirs we suffer that
We may be glorified with Him
